Project Overview:

GAIN is a UK & Ireland fungal meeting initiative on the management of Invasive Fungal Disease (IFD) that is delivered collaboratively by experts in Medical Mycology and the Medical Affairs Team.
GAIN provides an interdisciplinary programme of plenary sessions, debates, case studies and workshops relevant to healthcare professionals (HCPs), researchers and academics working in the UK & Ireland who are involved in the diagnosis and management of IFD.
The challenge
Complexity of Invasive Fungal Disease (IFD):
Managing IFD requires specialised knowledge due to its diagnostic and therapeutic challenges.
Need for Interdisciplinary Collaboration:
Effective IFD management demands input from a broad range of experts, including clinicians, researchers, and medical mycology specialists.
Limited Awareness and Training:
Many healthcare professionals may not have adequate training or resources to stay updated on IFD best practices.
Bridging Research and Clinical Practice:
There's a gap between emerging research in medical mycology and its implementation in real-world clinical settings.
Consistency Across the UK & Ireland:
Ensuring consistent education, awareness, and standards across different regions and institutions remains a challenge.
